I just took action calling on Secretary Vilsack and President Obama to reject the approval of Monsanto's GMO alfalfa and protect the integrity of organics. It's not just about the US, Monsanto are after a global control over food production. 40,000 Indian farmers have committed suicide due to Monsanto farm debt. The GMO crop does not produce a seed and the chemicals dry the land up. They can't afford new seeds and their land becomes worthless. There are so many reasons why Monsanto should be stopped (you can research online easily if you want to find out more). Let's fix this mess!
Vote with your money - don't buy GMO. Of course the problem is that in the US it's not required to label foods with GMO in them. In the Europe it's different - honest labeling is required. That's why Hershey's, a huge chocolate company, makes a special, GMO-free chocolate for the European markets. For the US products they use GMO because hey, Americans don't care. So let's start caring all of us human beings, this planet is perfect on its own and we do not need to change one single gene about it. Don't you think??
