Open Cosplay Photoshoot Day 1

These photos were taken last February 19, 2012 during the Open Cosplay Photoshoot organized by my good friend and assisted by yours truly. (Although I was not a big help :p)

It was  supposed to be an exclusive photoshoot with Tekken characters but then an idea came up and I suggested it to be an open shoot where everybody can dress up any character they like. I expected a handful of cosplayers will show up but a lot of people contacted us, asking to be a part of it. After so many adjustments, scheduling and online meetings, we decided to ask for help from other photographers. Gladly, a team volunteered to be a part of it and all went well on the day of the shoot.

What happened on that day?
I'll tell you what happened on the first and second day then the final shots. I was one of the photographers of the second day so I got to practice a lot with nice cosplayers.

I was Ichigo Kurosaki on the first day and part Misa Amane on the second. :D

FIRST DAY
Here I am with Light Yagami.
Okay so I lead all the foolishness on the first day. LOL. Here's a few shots behind the shoot.

This sexy girl beside me (her back IS SEXY) is Lara. She is so nice, she gave me a  Death Note for my birthday.

Bea and Jet. Jet here saved us when we got lost. :D

With my partner in crime doing foolish poses. Meet Bernice!

I don't know what we're talking about but I love this shot. I call it "The Wig Family".

Prep time! I was combing Ciara's wig when Ate V took a shot of us. Ninja Ichigo blending in with the shirt? :)

All jokes aside, here are the final shots of the first day of the shoot. I can only post my Ichigo photos here. For the other shots, click here.

Series: Bleach
Ichigo: Cee
Inoue: Nouf

FINALLY! I got to be Ichigo Kurosaki of Bleach. The wig was bought about a year ago, never knowing when I will actually cosplay the character. The sword was made by my dad. I showed him a photo of it and VOILA! He made it in about a week. Then I had the Bankai costume made for a cosplay event last December but sadly it was not pushed through. When I was actually giving up on cosplaying him, my friend came up with this cosplay shoot. Since it was not a themed shoot, I decided to go as Kurosaki-kun. :)

It was fun that day. Especially when my friends threw a surprise party for me for my birthday. Yaay! Imagine Ichigo in a party hat. (Nevermind, here's a photo of it. :D)

Jev asTsunayoshi and Cee as Ichigo
Well, it was nice seeing a few familiar faces and meeting new ones as well. Widening our cosplay friends circle!

Yeah, I know how to destroy a photo. Take the last one as an example. :D

Cee's Recent Cosplay Shoots and Updates

While on vacation (SEMBREAK actually), me and my mom had photoshoots of my MCTV OTAKUFEST 2011 costume, the Gothic Lolita Haruhi Suzumiya and my own version of Gakupo.
It was unfortunate at first because my camera gave up on me. Captured photos have unexplainable white lines (T_T). So we used my mother’s phone. It turned out well for a 2MP camera phone. Now I believe more than ever that sometimes, the camera does not matter as long as the photographer is good.
Mom was an excellent photographer, by the way. She had unique ideas for the shoot. I was planning to guide her in taking good shots but she turned out to be a good photographer! :)
So much for the words, here are the photos of the shoot:

My own version of Kamui Gakupo:
I still don't have any Kamui Gakupo costume. I am planning to cosplay the Sandplay version or Duke of Venomania. :) For now, I raided my closet and looked for decent pieces for Gakupo. I ended up dressing like a K-Pop artist (or so I thought. ^_^).
Here are some photos of the set. If you want more, click here.

I wore the Magnet headphones I made to make it look more like Gakupo. And yes, that's Tensa Zangetsu, the only thing I have closest to a samurai sword. Gakupo wields a sword on his default version, so there it is!

Gothic Lolita Haruhi Suzumiya:
At last a decent shoot for this cosplay. This is the "girliest" costume I have. (HAHA). I imitated some of Haruhi's poses in her school uniform since the Gothic Lolita version does not have many poses. Turned out that I did not have the figure's original pose. OtakuFest all over again. :)
For the whole set, click here:

I made some videos too. (HAHA I was pretty bored!). If you have time, do watch it and throw some nice comments. :)

Upcoming events:
Rumors say that there will be another cosplay event by MCTV. The theme will be "Movies" and I am having a problem on who to cosplay. :|
I only have a few details about the said event. Will post updates here so watch out! :)

Rumored date: January 29, 2011
Theme: Movies
Organizer: Mindanao Cable TV
Rumored Venue: Grand Astoria Hotel Celebrity Hall

ZANEC's Vocaloid Mafia Shoot

Another successful shoot by ZANEC: Vocaloid Mafia. The group dressed up as their favourite vocaloid in black and white clothes last October 22, 2011. Wielding dangerous weapons, we marched (what?!) to the Paseo de Jardin of Zamboanga and had the shoot with Western Mindanao State University’s University Digest photographers. I was supposed to be Gakupo but my wig did not arrive in time (T_T).

Enjoy these shots by yours truly!

ZANEC's FIRST GROUP COSPLAY PICTORIAL

ZANEC or the Zamboanga Anime-Nihon Enthusiasts Coalition held it's first group photoshoot last August 31, 2011 at the Butterfly Garden, Pasonanca Zamboanga City. The members of this otaku group created their own characters as the concept of the shoot was "Teachers and students wielding powerful weapons." The lot did well before the camera but a few of them really stood out:

Others were also great posing with their awesome weapons and with other characters. Of course, out-of-character-photos are sometimes the funniest!

This cutie is a killer? I don't think so. :3

The members of this otaku group definitely had fun. Hope to see you guys on our next shoot!

TRIBAMEDIA Guesting

This was my first TV guesting (aheehee). I was not satisfied with one gallery of photos in facebook so, here is the blog post! :D
ENJOY!!

TRIBAMEDIA: TRIBANG KAKAIBA
Pilot episode: Idol ko, gagayahin ko!

Jeff Rodriguez as Takeshi Yamamoto of Reborn!

Raechelle Dawn Ufana as Sakura Kinomoto of Cardcaptor Sakura

Winrisa Torres wearing a gothic lolita (J-Fashion) ensamble

Micah Alconera as Mio Akiyama of K-On!

Cee as Haruhi Suzumiya Gothic Lolita version of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Getting ready for the taping. I took a few photos of the group. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE!!!
We were all cramming so you can see some cosplayers moving around. :p

Mikee and I took places in taking group photos. :)

RAWR! Sakura looks so yummy! LOL :)

I think I ruined this shot. >_<
(NOTE: The studio had a bass guitar Mikee can borrow!! YAY!! A substitute Elizabeth!)

Because Elizabeth was soo awsm...

WHIN KIDNAPPED HER! :D
Just kidding, Whin. :D

Enjoying each other's company...

Briefing time! The friendly hosts discussed the flow of the show. And after a little chitchat... PICTURE TAKING. LOL.

A few minutes before taping, the group went on posing for silly shots! :)

Mikee! No peeking! The show is about to start! :p

After that, they started the taping! GAH! I was very nervous. >_______< I really did not know what to say and was afraid that words will just slip out of my mouth without thinking!

Mikee was asking me for ideas on how she will pose in-character. And she did really well!! To think that she is a shy person. :)

And... uhh.. I did my best. :)

Sakura-chan kawaii!!

Whin was one fashionable cosplayer. :)

And the cosplayer who was in-character ALL THE TIME... Jeff!

Group photo! We were all in character.

The show went smoothly! Everybody nailed every question thrown to them. I barely answered well! Good thing nothing out of the norm slipped out of my mouth. :p
Whin was the best in answering questions... not taking any moment to think. Clearly she was one cosplayer with experience. Glad I made it through.

PURRU-KUN WANTS TO EAT US!! Rawwwr!!

Mio-chan! You left Elizabeth!! :)

Last few shots before changing our clothes...

Overall, it was a nice experience. The TRIBAMEDIA staff was very nice to us. The hosts were fun to talk with. We would like to thank our family friends for supporting us in our hobby, the members of our beloved ZANEC and of course, TRIBAMEDIA for inviting us. Thank you so much!
