Franchia :: Vegan Restaurant in NYC :: Yummers

Yesterday Daniel and me jumped on a bus that was 40 minutes late (you get what you pay for, Megabus is cheap but unpredictable) and went to NYC. We were going to a psytrance party in Brooklyn to dance all night but before that we had dinner at a place called Franchia. They're totally vegan and totally lovely.

At first we had some 'tuna' sushi. That orchid flower smelled like a cupcake.

Fried veggie dumplings. They have the option to get them steamed instead of fried but we thought what the heck. You only live once, right.*

That's a sizzling steaming hot stone bowl with bibimbap. Basically it's rice, veggies, vegan 'duck', and some mystical spices and ingredients that made it taste deeliicious. The white things are kimchi which is cabbage...kimchified? A bit on the hot side for me.

For desert we went to Whole Earth Bakery on St. Marks Place and got pulla and pumpkin pie. Their pulla didn't come near the high standards my mom has set with the pulla she makes though. I'm determined to make pulla some day soon myself. Let's see how that goes.

Me in front of a fairytale tower.

*LOL just kidding ;)
